code of conduct

Respect the art. Respect each other. Elevate every roll.

HYGIENE & SAFETY

  1. Proper hygiene is mandatory – Come
clean. Keep nails trimmed, gi/rash guards
fresh, and body odor in check.

  2. Keep the mat clean – No shoes, no food
    or drink.

  3. Gi and No-Gi dress code must be followed
    – No loose, ripped, or inappropriate
clothing. Black, white or blue gis only.

  4. Injuries must be reported immediately –
Look out for yourself and others.

  5. Tap early, tap often – Safety first. Don't
    wait until it's too late.

  6. Release immediately when someone taps
    – No exceptions. Respect the tap.

RESPECT & CONDUCT

  1. Your instructor may be referred to as Professor, Sensi, or Coach. Never master.

  2. Bow upon entering and leaving the mat – Honor the space, your training, and your teammates.

  3. Show respect at all times – Ego has no place here. Humility and kindness lead.

  4. No aggressive behavior – We lead with control and composure.

  5. Use technique, not strength – You’re here to train, not dominate.

  6. Higher belts help, not hurt – Guidance over ego.

  7. No unsupervised sparring or rolling – Always train under an instructor’s eye.

CULTURE & COMMUNITY

  1. We don’t tolerate bullying, discrimination, or harassment – This is a space for all to thrive.

  2. Support your teammates – Especially
    beginners. We rise together.

  3. Respect personal boundaries – Especially in close-contact scenarios. Consent is key.

  4. Honor the lineage – Know the history,
respect the journey, represent the art.

  5. Trust the process – Promotions come
    through consistency, growth, and character.

  6. Don’t ask for belts – Let your dedication and spirit speak for you.

Represent the dojo well – On and off the mat. BE GRACIOUS IN VICTORY OR DEFEAT.
